Jeff Roe is the founder of Axiom Strategies, a firm that specializes in strategic consulting and direct mail for Congressional, Senatorial and statewide campaigns. Axiom opened its first office in Kansas City in 2005, expanded to the nation’s capitol in 2008 and Dallas, Texas in 2012.
Jeff has helped elect 31 Congressmen and 4 US Senators nationwide. Under Jeff’s direction, Axiom Strategies has now expanded its footprint into every region of the country. Running Congressional races from Delaware to Florida to California and statewide campaigns from Maine to Georgia to Nevada; Jeff has broad national experience. In addition to political and ballot initiative campaigns, Jeff regularly consults corporate clients on federal, state and local issues.
His political career began at the ground level, working for then-State Representative Sam Graves in 1994, helping to elect him to State Senate and eventually Congress in 2000, after which he became Graves’ Chief of Staff.
Jeff’s passion for political campaigns kept him involved in consulting, where he helped Missouri Republicans take over the General Assembly for the first time in 50 years. After a string of early successes under his new company Axiom, Jeff began managing races throughout the Midwest, helping to guide a number of Congressional candidates to victory.
Axiom debuted on the Presidential level in 2008, where he assisted Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee with a massive voter ID effort in dozens of states including Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and the Super Tuesday States. In 2012, Jeff was a consultant to Gov. Rick Perry’s Presidential campaign. He has run 56 races in the first 11 Presidential primary states.
In 2003, Ingram’s, Kansas City’s Business Magazine, named Jeff a member of the elite 40 Under Forty group. Jeff is also an adjunct professor at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, and a guest lecturer for The Washington Campus, a consortium of business schools from top universities across the nation. Jeff participates as a panelist for business and political forums hosted by numerous organizations, including the Committee for Economic Development, based in Washington, D.C. He has also been invited to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) as a guest panelist. Additionally, Jeff served as a panelist for Campaigns and Elections Magazine and occasionally writes features for their publication. Jeff also is a guest on a weekly radio program on WPHT in Philadelphia and a contributor to the KMBZ morning show in Kansas City. Jeff has appeared on the McNeil Lehrer News Hour, Fox News, the KCPT public affairs show “Ruckus” and numerous political cable programs and regularly quotes for Roll Call, The Hill, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and Politico publications and blogs.
A Brookfield, Missouri native, Jeff grew up working on his family’s hog farm, was an Eagle Scout and joined the Army National Guard at the age of 17. He attended basic training at Ft. Still, Oklahoma and served in a 155 mm Howitzer Unit in South Korea.
He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. He and his wife, Melissa, have one daughter, Remington, and live in Kansas City. They are members of Northland Cathedral, an Assemblies of God Church.
Sarah Hoeller is a Vice President at Axiom Strategies. Sarah manages Axiom’s business operations and corporate accounts. Prior to joining Axiom, Sarah served as Congressman Sam Graves’ finance director, helping guide the Congressman to a successful re-election campaign and increasing fundraising by 40% over the previous election cycle.
Sarah has extensive fundraising experience at all levels of government, having hosted events featuring President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Speaker John Boehner and Governor Mike Huckabee. Campaigns across the country have benefited from her experience and expertise in developing successful fundraising programs.
Sarah has degrees from Kansas State University in Political Science and French. She lives in Dallas with her husband, Pete, where they are members of Gateway Church.
Margarita is an Associate at Axiom Strategies. Margarita graduated from the University of Kansas in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Strategic Communications from the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications with a minor in Russian Studies.
Margarita joined Axiom in the fall of 2009 to serve as the team's scheduler and event coordinator for corporate and political clients. Since then she has helped coordinate successful fundraising events involving Governors, Congressmen and Senators.
Margarita moved to the United States in 1993 from Ukraine where her whole family was born and raised.
Nick is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance and Economics. In 2011, Nick earned his Master of Business Administration from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis.
Nick joined Axiom in March 2012 after six years with The Boeing Company in a variety of roles in their finance organization. Nick has a diverse business background with skills and experience in planning, forecasting, accounting, analytics, pricing, contract and proposal development, negotiation and project management, among others. His responsibilities at Axiom include running operations and logistics for the mail program.
Patrick D. Shami
Patrick D. Shami is an Associate at Axiom Strategies. Patrick started in politics by serving as Treasurer and later Executive Director of the College Republicans at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where he helped rebuild the chapter, increasing its membership from only five students to hundreds. In 2010, Patrick worked as a Field Representative for the Missouri House Republican Campaign Committee, and then served as Political Director for Annie Presley’s City Council campaign in Kansas City. Patrick has worked on political campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels of government.
Patrick started working for Axiom in May of 2011. His responsibilities at the firm include social media marketing and outreach and general research. His primary responsibility at Axiom Strategies is to identify competitive political races all over the country for the company to get involved in.
Patrick graduated with a BA in Political Science from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where he is also currently finishing a MA in Political Science. Patrick lives in the Old Hyde Park neighborhood in Kansas City, MO.
Robby Morales is the Art Director at Axiom Strategies. Robby is a native of Johnson County, Kansas who joined Axiom in 2012 as a graphic designer for the primary and general elections. Robby has 15 years of experience in graphic arts where he has developed his creative disciplines in print, web and branding design. His work includes designing and overseeing the design of numerous award-winning pieces for Federal and state-level campaigns as well as national advocacy organizations.
Robby lives in Overland Park, KS with his wife Melissa and their four children.
Aaron Baker is a North Missouri native and has worked on Missouri campaigns and policies since 2002.
Baker comes from the office of United States Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) and previously worked in the Missouri General Assembly for Senators Bill Stouffer and John Cauthorn.
Baker’s experience in the political landscape includes grassroots work for statewide campaigns for Missouri Governor, United States Senate and ballot initiatives. His legislative background includes work in healthcare, transportation and education reform.
A graduate of the University of Missouri, Aaron lives on a farm in Atlanta, Missouri with his wife and three children. The Bakers helped found a non-for-profit ministry in Aaron’s hometown and they are active in the Missouri Farm Bureau, the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association and serve as emergency foster parents.
Travis has worked at all levels of politics, from the George W. Bush White House to serving as a Congressional Chief of Staff on Capitol Hill.
From state legislative races, to coalition building for a Presidential campaign, to managing multiple top-tier, nationally targeted House races, Travis has experience in nearly every facet of a political campaign.
Now a partner at Axiom, Travis helps guide both incumbents and first time candidates to winning elections. Travis also regularly consults corporate clients on political issues.
He graduated from Liberty University in Virginia where he received his degree in Politics and Policy. A San Francisco Bay Area native, Travis now lives in Kansas City with his wife Kristin and their three boys, Sutton, Weston and Barron.
Brandon Moody serves as a Vice President at Axiom Strategies handling federal, statewide, issue advocacy and public affairs campaigns for a range of clients.
Brandon brings a wealth of experience to Axiom drawing from over a decade of campaign management, public policy, communciations and media experience at all levels. In 2012, Brandon was asked to serve as a Team Captain on the National Republican Congressional Committee’s (NRCC) Independent Expenditure Unit. In this role, he helped oversee the strategic implementation of millions in advertising for targeted races nationwide placed by the NRCC in one of the most succesful election cycles ever for House Republicans.
Before working on strategy and advertising for the committee, Brandon also served on the senior staff as the Patriot Program Director at the NRCC. In this role, he helped the top 20 GOP House incumbents build strong campaigns, assemble their teams, and prepare for reelection.
In the public policy realm, Brandon served on Capitol Hill as Chief of Staff to Rep. Sean Duffy from Wisconsin’s eigth congressional district. Duffy was a freshman member of the poweful House Financial Services Committee and a top target of Congressioanl Democrats. Duffy won his sophomore reelection by over 12 points in a previously Blue District and achieved numerous legislative successes as a young lawmaker.
Orginially from New Hampshire, Brandon has consulted on or managed many high profile campaigns across the country including Wisconsin Congressman Reid Ribble’s upset win in 2010 and Congressman Jim Gerlach’s 2006 stunning reelection campaign in Pennsylvania.
Moody worked at the media consulting firm Marsh Copsey + Associates as a Senior Consultant in both their U.S. and International Divisions from 2007 - 2010. He has served directly on international campaigns in Iraq and has helped to develop, produce, create and place advertising in nearly every major media market in the U.S.
Brandon holds a B.A. in Journalism from Bob Jones University, and currently resides in San Francisco, CA with his wife Angie and their daughter Everly.
Andrew Salter is the Video Creative Director at Axiom Strategies. Andrew is a native of Detroit, Michigan who joined Axiom in 2014 as a graphic designer for the primary and general elections.
Andrew has 12 years of diverse experience in the creative arts where he has developed his skills in animation, print design, web design, video editing and music production. He has worked in the film and music industries, honing his talents in projects involving Jack Black, Madonna, and feature films. While staying active in print design innovation, he leads production on video and music.
Andrew lives in Overland Park, KS with his wife Katrina and their two children.
Michael Claeys is a Interactive Art Director at Axiom Strategies. He’s a native of Las Vegas and brings a certain flair to his 15 years of print and web experience design.
First joining the Axiom team during the 2012 election, Michael helped establish Axiom’s award winning direct mail capabilities. Now, after rejoining with Axiom, he is further providing his leadership in developing Axiom’s digital and multi-channel marketing capabilities.
Michael served in Army as an Abrams Combat Tank crewman, and as a sergeant with the Missouri National Guard while attending the Kansas City Art Institute earning a BFA in design. Michael currently lives in Kansas City with his wife, Bernadette.
A veteran of campaign politics, Titus began working on campaigns in 2002 for United States Congressman Sam Graves. Titus worked on numerous campaigns until he became an Associate with Axiom Strategies in 2006. Since then Titus has managed campaigns in Alaska, California, Montana, Kansas and Missouri.
Titus continues his political work as the Director of Remington Research Group, a polling firm that specializes in IVR polling methodology and advanced data analytics. Titus also manages all phone work for Command.
He attended Rockhurst High School in Kansas City and The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. Titus lives in Kansas City with his wife Stephanie and their son, Jackson.
Chris was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. After moving south and graduating from the University of Georgia with a joint A.B. degree in Business and Journalism, Chris worked as Statewide Grassroots Director for Congressman Jack Kingston’s U.S. Senate campaign in Georgia.
After the Kingston campaign, Chris moved to Kansas City in 2014, where he manages Axiom’s data programs and develops messaging and targeting strategies for clients’ mail, phone programs, and other media. Chris’s experience and skills in data management and analytics help Axiom lead the industry in advanced, data-intensive studies, which ensure our clients’ message, delivery method, and target universe are the most effective and efficient possible.
Corbin Gauert is an Associate at Axiom Strategies. Corbin is a Clay County native and graduate of Oak Park High School where he served as the digital news and yearbook editor.
Corbin started in politics while majoring in Political Science at William Jewell College, where he was a student in Jeff Roe’s Campaigns and Elections course. At the semester’s conclusion, Corbin began his career at Axiom as a 2010 summer intern, where he quickly became instrumental in data management, message development, and targeting strategies.
Corbin returned to Axiom for the 2012 election cycle, where he built out his capabilities in creative development and design – receiving numerous awards for his work at the cycle’s conclusion: including the 2013 Best of the Best Pollie Award. After completing his major, Corbin resumed work at Axiom full-time in 2014, where he works on campaign messaging, strategy, branding, and design.
