Jeff Roe is the founder of Axiom Strategies, a firm that specializes in strategic consulting and direct mail for Congressional, Senatorial and statewide campaigns. Axiom opened its first office in Kansas City in 2005, expanded to the nation’s capitol in 2008 and Dallas, Texas in 2012.
Jeff has helped elect 31 Congressmen and 4 US Senators nationwide. Under Jeff’s direction, Axiom Strategies has now expanded its footprint into every region of the country. Running Congressional races from Delaware to Florida to California and statewide campaigns from Maine to Georgia to Nevada; Jeff has broad national experience. In addition to political and ballot initiative campaigns, Jeff regularly consults corporate clients on federal, state and local issues.
His political career began at the ground level, working for then-State Representative Sam Graves in 1994, helping to elect him to State Senate and eventually Congress in 2000, after which he became Graves’ Chief of Staff.
Jeff’s passion for political campaigns kept him involved in consulting, where he helped Missouri Republicans take over the General Assembly for the first time in 50 years. After a string of early successes under his new company Axiom, Jeff began managing races throughout the Midwest, helping to guide a number of Congressional candidates to victory.
Axiom debuted on the Presidential level in 2008, where he assisted Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee with a massive voter ID effort in dozens of states including Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and the Super Tuesday States. In 2012, Jeff was a consultant to Gov. Rick Perry’s Presidential campaign. He has run 56 races in the first 11 Presidential primary states.
In 2003, Ingram’s, Kansas City’s Business Magazine, named Jeff a member of the elite 40 Under Forty group. Jeff is also an adjunct professor at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, and a guest lecturer for The Washington Campus, a consortium of business schools from top universities across the nation. Jeff participates as a panelist for business and political forums hosted by numerous organizations, including the Committee for Economic Development, based in Washington, D.C. He has also been invited to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) as a guest panelist. Additionally, Jeff served as a panelist for Campaigns and Elections Magazine and occasionally writes features for their publication. Jeff also is a guest on a weekly radio program on WPHT in Philadelphia and a contributor to the KMBZ morning show in Kansas City. Jeff has appeared on the McNeil Lehrer News Hour, Fox News, the KCPT public affairs show “Ruckus” and numerous political cable programs and regularly quotes for Roll Call, The Hill, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and Politico publications and blogs.
A Brookfield, Missouri native, Jeff grew up working on his family’s hog farm, was an Eagle Scout and joined the Army National Guard at the age of 17. He attended basic training at Ft. Still, Oklahoma and served in a 155 mm Howitzer Unit in South Korea.
He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. He and his wife, Melissa, have one daughter, Remington, and live in Kansas City. They are members of Northland Cathedral, an Assemblies of God Church.
Sarah Hoeller is a Vice President at Axiom Strategies. Sarah manages Axiom’s business operations and corporate accounts. Prior to joining Axiom, Sarah served as Congressman Sam Graves’ finance director, helping guide the Congressman to a successful re-election campaign and increasing fundraising by 40% over the previous election cycle.
Sarah has extensive fundraising experience at all levels of government, having hosted events featuring President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Speaker John Boehner and Governor Mike Huckabee. Campaigns across the country have benefited from her experience and expertise in developing successful fundraising programs.
Sarah has degrees from Kansas State University in Political Science and French. She lives in Dallas with her husband, Pete, where they are members of Gateway Church.
Cameron Armour is an Associate at Axiom Strategies. Cameron is a Connecticut native who joined Axiom after the 2008 cycle to provide opposition research and develop new media assets.
In the 2010 primary, Cameron joined Axiom's mail program to provide research and logistical support for Axiom's Federal and statewide mail campaigns. In the general election he coordinated mail campaigns for the Missouri House Republican Campaign Committee and secured a 91% win ratio for all campaigns under his direction.
Cameron has experience handling every stage of mail production: data, targeting, budgeting, creative, and graphic design for both political and corporate clients.
Cameron graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri where he studied international relations and economics.
Margarita is an Associate at Axiom Strategies. Margarita graduated from the University of Kansas in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Strategic Communications from the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications with a minor in Russian Studies. Margarita joined Axiom in the fall of 2009 to serve as the team's scheduler and event coordinator for corporate and political clients. Since then she has helped coordinate successful fundraising events involving Governors, Congressmen and Senators.
Margarita moved to the United States in 1993 from Ukraine where her whole family was born and raised.
Jason Klindt has helped shape messages for Fortune 500 companies and campaigns at all levels. Over the last decade he has experience in corporate communications, crisis communications, government relations and public affairs.
Whether it’s paid, earned or social media, Klindt is well versed on how to take advantage of different mediums and opportunities. In 2012, Klindt was charged with running a direct mail firm that produced over 500 unique pieces of direct mail to more than a dozen states.
In 2008, he managed a nationally targeted Congressional campaign. However, it was anything but competitive as Sam Graves beat Kay Barnes by 22 points. Klindt has also helped Congressmen Billy Long and Kevin Yoder overcome tough primary and general elections to win their seats in Congress in 2010.
A native Iowan, Klindt graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville where he received a Bachelors degree in Public Relations and a Masters of Business Administration. Jason and his wife, Nichole, are residents of Kansas City.
Nick is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance and Economics. In 2011, Nick earned his Master of Business Administration from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis.
Nick joined Axiom in March 2012 after six years with The Boeing Company in a variety of roles in their finance organization. Nick has a diverse business background with skills and experience in planning, forecasting, accounting, analytics, pricing, contract and proposal development, negotiation and project management, among others. His responsibilities at Axiom include running operations and logistics for the mail program.
Patrick D. Shami
Patrick D. Shami is an Associate at Axiom Strategies. Patrick started in politics by serving as Treasurer and later Executive Director of the College Republicans at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where he helped rebuild the chapter, increasing its membership from only five students to hundreds. In 2010, Patrick worked as a Field Representative for the Missouri House Republican Campaign Committee, and then served as Political Director for Annie Presley’s City Council campaign in Kansas City. Patrick has worked on political campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels of government.
Patrick started working for Axiom in May of 2011. His responsibilities at the firm include social media marketing and outreach and general research. His primary responsibility at Axiom Strategies is to identify competitive political races all over the country for the company to get involved in.
Patrick graduated with a BA in Political Science from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where he is also currently finishing a MA in Political Science. Patrick lives in the Old Hyde Park neighborhood in Kansas City, MO.
Robby Morales is the Art Director at Axiom Strategies. Robby is a native of Johnson County, Kansas who joined Axiom in 2012 as a graphic designer for the primary and general elections. Robby has 14 years of experience in graphic arts where he has developed his creative disciplines in print, web and branding design. His work includes designing and overseeing the design of numerous award-winning pieces for Federal and state-level campaigns as well as national advocacy organizations.
Robby lives in Overland Park, KS with his wife Melissa and their four children.
Kristen Blanchard is a Joplin, Missouri native and worked as an Associate at the law firm of Blanchard, Robertson, Mitchell and Carter, P.C. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri - School of Law and formerly worked in the Missouri House of Representatives under now-Senator, then-Speaker Ron Richard. Prior to her time in the Missouri House, Blanchard worked on Governor Blunt's campaign and administration, and also as a business developer for Savoya in Dallas, Texas.
Blanchard focuses on Axiom's corporate clients and legislative affairs. She is based in Jefferson City as she opens a new division of the firm, established to service Axiom's current client base and to work in existing partnerships with other lobbying firms.
Aaron Baker is a North Missouri native and has worked on Missouri campaigns and policies since 2002.
Baker comes from the office of United States Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) and previously worked in the Missouri General Assembly for Senators Bill Stouffer and John Cauthorn.
Baker’s experience in the political landscape includes grassroots work for statewide campaigns for Missouri Governor, United States Senate and ballot initiatives. His legislative background includes work in healthcare, transportation and education reform.
A graduate of the University of Missouri, Aaron lives on a farm in Atlanta, Missouri with his wife and three children. The Bakers helped found a non-for-profit ministry in Aaron’s hometown and they are active in the Missouri Farm Bureau, the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association and serve as emergency foster parents.
Kelly Opp is an Associate at Axiom Strategies. Kelly was raised in Rose Hill, KS and graduated from KU in 2010 with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and History, and a Minor in French. She interned in 2009 for Johnson County District Court Judge Kathleen Sloan.
Kelly joined Axiom in June 2010. Her responsibilities at the firm include social media marketing, political fundraising & event planning, and coordinating voter ID, advocacy and automated phone services.
Kelly’s main role at Axiom revolves around executing grassroots and grasstops campaigns for Axiom’s corporate partners, handling a roster of clients that includes several Fortune 500 companies.
Heather is an Associate at Axiom Strategies. She is a Georgia native who worked with Axiom during the 2012 cycle to provide opposition tracking and research in central Missouri.
Following the 2012 cycle, Heather moved to Kansas City to join Axiom as an Associate. Herresponsibilities at the firm include research, message development, fundraising, and grassroots operations for both campaign and corporate clients.
Heather graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in History in 2009. In 2010, Heather’s political career began in Atlanta, Georgia when she joined the grassroots operation of John Oxendine’s gubernatorial campaign. She received her Master of Arts in Political Science with a focus in Campaign Politics from the University of Georgia in May 2012.
Heather lives in Platte County with her dog, Biscuit.
Travis started his career in politics as a White House intern, and from there went headfirst into the full time campaign world, working on dozens of campaigns at all levels. From managing state legislative races, to statewide coalition building for McCain-Palin in 2008, to managing multiple top-tier, nationally targeted House races, Travis has experience in nearly every facet of a political campaign.
In 2010 Travis successfully managed Rep. Kevin Yoder’s bid for Congress, and then served as Chief of Staff to the Congressman in Washington, DC, for over three years.
Now at Axiom, Travis helps guide both incumbent Congressman and first time candidates to winning elections. Travis also regularly consults corporate clients on political issues.
He graduated from Liberty University in Virginia where he received his degree in Politics and Policy. A San Francisco Bay Area native, Travis now lives in Kansas City with his wife Kristin and their two boys, Sutton and Weston.
